I WAS appalled to hear the news regarding the post office in Haworth.
Considering the top of Haworth had no food shop, Sammy did a great job selling food essentials to people – old, injured or without a car – as well as his post office duties helped by his wife.
What will people do now? I never could accept the fire station closure, but even less that the Co-op was opening there. Common sense says the village needed a shop at the top of Haworth. We already have the Spar at the bottom, doing a great job.
Although I now live in Marsh and regularly shop at the Co-op in Oxenhope, I also use the Spar regularly and go up to the lovely post office at the top of the village. I am never going to shop at the new Co-op in Haworth.
For the sake of the residents at the top of Haworth I hope this issue can be resolved to their advantage and for Sammy Ahmed as well.
Fight for us Robbie Moore, we are behind you.
Jill Buchanan, Marsh, Oxenhope
