PEOPLE across the Bradford district caring for a friend or relative are being given the chance to take part in a free confidence-building course.

The employment team at Carers’ Resource is offering a six-session course, both online and at its Shipley office.

Support will be given to carers who are considering seeking a job or exploring other opportunities for themselves.

Jenny Sengel, for Carers’ Resource, said: “This course is ideal for carers who are starting to think about plans for their future after lockdown. Or they might want to take a bit of time out of their busy caring week to focus on things they would like to do for themselves.

“The sessions include a mix of confidence-building and fun activities, as well as a chance for carers to meet each other and chat.

“The employment team will be happy to talk to anyone who would like to know more.”

Group sessions will be on Wednesday mornings, but the team can work with carers at other times too.

It is a rolling programme, so participants may join at any point between this month and November.

One-to-one sessions are also offered.

The programme is financed by the European Social Fund and Yorkshire Water.
