ORGANISERS of a competition are bowled over with the support of a home-shopping giant.

Damart, whose warehousing facility is at Steeton, once again sponsored the Ben Ramsden Merit crown green bowling contest.

The company has now backed the event, staged by Bradford Crown Green Bowls Association, for several years.

The latest tournament, which attracted 64 entries, was the association’s first competition since before the pandemic began.

Association chair, Tony Riley, said: “We are extremely grateful to Damart for its continued support. We’ve all missed our competitions, so it was wonderful to see bowlers competing again for the Ben Ramsden Merit Trophy.”

Damart online merchandise manager, Claire Brown, said the company was delighted to give its backing.

“We’re always really pleased to support clubs like the Bradford Crown Green Bowls Association – which is making a difference in our community,” she said.
