MAJOR improvement work is being carried out at a Denholme water activities and adventure centre.

More-modern training, changing and meeting spaces are being created at Doe Park – with a new building also incorporating three rooms, an office, accessible toilets and a kitchenette.

The Bradford Council-run facility is closed until next month whilst work is carried out, by Queensbury-based IAG Developments.

Councillor Sarah Ferriby, the council’s executive member for healthy people and places, said: “We’re delighted we were able to award the contract to bring the facilities at Doe Park into the future, to a local company.

"We look forward to working with the firm on this project and also being able to welcome even more customers to an improved site and an exciting range of programmes.”
