YORKSHIRE Water has supported 69,000 customers to pay their bills in the first five months of this financial year.
The company says there has been a surge in people using its support schemes, as the impact of the pandemic continues to hit many people financially.
Yorkshire Water operates several initiatives to help those struggling with their bills.
Angie Markham-Nock, for the company, said: “The pandemic has had a huge impact on finances for people across the UK – and we have seen a big uptake in customers signing-up to our support schemes as a result.
“We’ve surpassed our annual target for support provided just five months into this financial year – and we hope to help many more customers over the next seven months and beyond.
“Our team is expert in signposting and explaining the schemes to customers – and we’ve simplified our online application forms to make the support even more accessible.”
