SOUTH Craven MP Julian Smith has been given a behind-the-scenes tour of a specialist care centre.
He was shown around Malsis Hall, Glusburn, which provides recovery and rehabilitation for people with mental health conditions, often resulting from psychological trauma.
In addition to care home facilities, there is a purpose-built hospital onsite together with more-independent studio apartments.
Mr Smith was accompanied on the tour by group medical director Steve Wilkinson, who spoke about the work of the centre and how the pandemic had impacted on services.
The MP also learned about how Malsis Hall plans to develop community links and make some facilities, including sports pitches, available to the public. “I much appreciated the tour and the chance to discuss the facility – including how things have progressed since it first opened in 2019,” said Mr Smith.
