WALKERS, runners and mountain bikers are being invited to take on the ten mile Settle Loop to raise much-needed funds for Manorlands Hospice.

The Settle Loop Challenge 2021, organised by the hospice’s Settle fundraising group, takes place on Saturday, October 23 and will see participants follow a beautiful 10-mile circular loop with stunning views across the Dales.

The off-road trail event, sponsored by Castleberg Outdoors, starts and finishes at North Ribblesdale Rugby Union Club, Settle, and everyone who takes part will receive a medal and hot meal at the finish line.

The last event in 2019 saw 175 people take part, raising £6,000 for the hospice.

Andrew Wood, community fundraising manager, said: “The annual Sue Ryder Manorlands Settle Loop Challenge is now in its third year and it’s always a very popular event with young and old alike. It provides a great opportunity to get outside and explore the great outdoors this autumn, all whilst raising money for a very good cause.

“The funds raised by this event will help us to continue to provide expert palliative care and bereavement support for local people and their families, filling their last days with love.”
