A CHOIR is on song as it prepares to perform again.

KVU Singers – which began life as Keighley Vocal Union in 1906 – is returning to action following the easing of Covid restrictions.

Members are staging a free concert at Christ Church, Skipton, on Sunday, October 17, at 2.30pm.

A spokesperson said: “We’re back!

“We have been denied the making of live music for the best part of two years – and it has been grim.

“There were Zoom rehearsals, but they are not the same as sitting surrounded by your friends and fellow choristers. There is no feedback, no buzz – it’s like watching something in black and white instead of in colour.

“Now we are getting ready for that moment when we focus our eyes on Frank Smith – our ever-enthusiastic conductor – take a deep breath, wait for the beat then sing!

“There is no feeling quite like it, so why not come and celebrate with us?”
