STAFF from an estate agents put their best foot forward in support of a hospital unit.
An 18-strong contingent from Wilman & Lodge tackled a 27.5-mile walk from Apperley Bridge to Steeton.
A £2,325 donation has now been presented to Airedale Hospital and Community Charity for the haematology and oncology day unit, where patients with cancer and some blood diseases receive chemotherapy.
Wilman & Lodge employees organised the walk on behalf of Anne Matthews, who recently received treatment on the unit. Her daughter, Tracy, is a director of the firm.
Anne said: “I asked for donations rather than gifts for my recent birthday – through this I raised £850 and then the rest was realised through the sponsored walk. I wanted to show my appreciation to the staff on the unit and thank them for everything they’ve done and for helping me during a very difficult time.”
