A KEIGHLEY main road was closed earlier today after bags of cement fell from a lorry.
Around ten 25kg bags were shed on the A629 Halifax Road, at Hermit Hole.
Police and firefighters attended the incident, at around 10.30am.
Watch commander Mick Rhodes, of Keighley fire station, said: "Initially we received reports of an unknown, strong-smelling powder in the road.
"It was quickly established that it was builders' cement. The driver had been unaware at the time that he'd lost it.
"We swept as much as we could from the road and the council highways department was alerted."
