REHEARSALS are in full swing for a musical revue production in Keighley next month.

Keighley Musical Theatre Company is staging the show as part of a global celebration.

Members are joining with thousands of organisations across the world performing local productions of Music Theatre International’s All Together Now! over the same weekend.

All Together Now! features songs from a host of musicals – from Annie, Mary Poppins and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory to Fiddler on the Roof and Les Misérables.

The Keighley performances will be at the playhouse on November 12 and 13.

“We are now in full rehearsals,” said company chair, Louise Hindle-Barton.

“Our talented members are enjoying being back together again, doing what they do best.”

The company said the offer of the revue by Music Theatre International was a huge boost, after the group had been forced to cancel four shows due to the pandemic and the use of its usual venue – Victoria Hall – as a Covid test centre.

A further boost was received when Riddlesden Institute offered its premises as a new rehearsal venue, after the company’s previous ‘home’ was lost due to demolition.

And Keighley Playhouse agreed to allow use of its premises for next month’s production.

“It didn’t take long for enthusiasm to gather within the company,” said Louise.

“And with musical director John Sandland, director Peter Whitley and choreographer Judith Chapman at the helm, the production has all the signs of being an excellent show.”

Performances are on November 12 at 7.30pm and the following day at 2.30pm and 7.30pm.

Tickets are available, priced £10, via https://kmtc.amateurboxoffice.co.uk/ or by calling 03000 301 303.

Both Keighley Playhouse and Keighley Musical Theatre Company are supporting local charities.
