KEIGHLEY’s deputy mayor Councillor Luke Maunsell was amongst the guests at an event celebrating the company launch of independent publisher Curious Cat Books.

The gathering took place at Waterstones, in Bradford.

Curious Cat Books publishes a range of genres – as well as offering professional editing, formatting and coaching services – and the event was attended by a number of its Yorkshire-based authors.

“The launch was a huge success – it was wonderful to see so many people sharing and celebrating their passion for books,” said Rachael Hardcastle, founder and editor of Curious Cat Books.

Councillor Maunsell said: “It was wonderful to meet some fantastic new, local authors – including Kier Jay McGuinness, who has written a brilliant zombie horror series set in Leeds. It was a fantastic night and inspiring – it has prodded me to do more writing myself!”
