GRANTS are now available for LGV and minibus companies in the district to adapt or replace their vehicles before Bradford’s clean air zone comes into force early next year.
Bradford Council has received £10.3m of Government funding and is awarding grants of up to £4,500 per vehicle to eligible companies.
The support is available to charities, educational establishments, community transport organisations and businesses classed as small or medium-sized enterprises based within the Bradford district.
Councillor Sarah Ferriby, the council’s portfolio holder for healthy people and places, said: “These grants are a great opportunity for organisations using LGVs and minibuses to gear-up for the clean air zone.
“If you are thinking of applying, don’t delay, as this fund is likely to receive an enthusiastic response and grants are available on a first-come, first-served basis.”

More details of the clean air zone can be found at bradford.gov.uk/breathe-better-bradford/breathe-better-bradford.
Vehicles such as vans, taxis, lorries, buses and coaches that do not meet clean air standards will be charged for entering the zone. There will be no charge for private cars.
