A POPULAR Manorlands trail-running event – cancelled last year due to the pandemic – is making a return.

Run Bolton Abbey, first held four years ago, takes place once again on Sunday, November 14.

The event offers a range of routes around the estate to suit all abilities – including 10k, ten-mile and half-marathon courses – plus a 2.4-mile family fun run.

Runners will set-off in waves just after 11am, following a two-minute silence for Remembrance Sunday.

There will be chip timing and everyone who finishes will receive a wooden medal.

All proceeds will go to the Oxenhope Sue Ryder hospice.

Andrew Wood, community fundraising manager at Manorlands, said: “We hope that lots of people will come and join us for Run Bolton Abbey this year.

“It provides a unique opportunity to run on parts of the estate not usually accessible to the public, all while taking in the stunning autumnal colours.

“The funds raised from this event will help us to continue to provide specialist care and bereavement support for local people and their families, filling their last days with love.”
