PLAYING For Kicks will be headlining at the 111th Groovy Happening in Haworth.

The event takes place upstairs at the Parkside Social Club on Saturday, November 6, at 7.30pm.

Admission is £4, payable by cash only, with all proceeds going to the Oxenhope Sue Ryder hospice Manorlands. Over the years, Groovy Happening has raised more than £39,000.

Playing For Kicks, appearing for the first time at Groovy, have been performing an eclectic set around the Bradford area for over a decade.

Frontman, Mike Wheatley, says: “We play songs you know and love, from the sixties to the noughties. There’s something for everyone. This is our first gig since lockdown, so we may be a bit giddy!”

Opening the night will be Groovy regulars Ruby Stone & The Doctor, featuring front singer Dawn Stebbings and keyboard player Gareth John. They will play an acoustic set of songs by artists ranging from Alison Moyet to The Four Seasons.

They will be followed by American post-punk band, Late Nite Radio, making its debut at the event.
