A HOUSEBUILDER has teamed-up with a charity to promote wildlife at one of its developments.
Barratt has partnered with the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust for the initiative, at Saxon Dene in Silsden.
As part of the scheme, a series of community workshops is being staged.
Residents are learning how to create wildlife havens in their gardens, to help the likes of birds and hedgehogs – and about flowers to attract bees and butterflies.
The first session included autumnal art activities and a scavenger hunt.
Ian Ruthven, managing director of Barratt Developments Yorkshire West, said: “We are delighted to be working with the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust.
“We are committed to being a responsible and sustainable home builder that protects the nature and wildlife in the communities where we build. We want to empower homeowners to turn their gardens into havens for wildlife that protect species.”
