A MOTORIST has been banned from driving for 19 months and ordered to pay a total of £491 by magistrates for drink driving.

Rahul Ahmed, 28, of Grange Road, Riddlesden, was found to have 77 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath when he was stopped in Bradford Road, Keighley, on May 30. The legal limit is 35 microgrammes.

He pleaded guilty and was fined £369 and ordered to pay £85 costs and a £37 victim surcharge at Kirklees Magistrates Court.

His driving ban will be reduced by 19 weeks if he successfully completes a course.
