FURTHER talks have been held over safety issues on a stretch of road where a young boy died.
Councillors and highways officers from West and North Yorkshire have met again to discuss potential measures for Sutton Lane, in Eastburn.
In September, nine-year-old George Lewis died when he was struck by a vehicle in the lane – which straddles the county boundaries.
Among those present at the latest meeting were Craven district councillor Stephen Morrell and councillors Rebecca Whitaker and Peter Clarke, who represent Craven ward on Bradford Council.
They said it had been a positive meeting and a number of "practical suggestions" were put forward, which will be referred back to the respective councils.
A further meeting will take place in the new year, when it is hoped proposals will be approved and then action taken as soon as practicable.
Public announcements will be issued when the decisions are finalised.
