A KEIGHLEY musician and songwriter has seen his latest single go straight into the UK country music charts at number one – ahead of US superstars Taylor Swift and Luke Combs.
Alastair Leeming – who performs under the name Jackson Lake – was "absolutely over the moon" when his single, What Would You Say?, enjoyed immediate success following its release on Friday.
"It feels like every note I’ve played in the past 20 years has led me here and this really is just the beginning," he said.
Jackson is currently working on a new album, Lost & Found, which is due for release next Friday, December 10.
He is collaborating on the project, which was crowdfunded during the pandemic, with Leeds-based producer Matt Dunwell.
The album will be officially launched at Northern Guitars Cafe Bar in Leeds on December 19, with the support of fellow West Yorkshire musician Chris Dover.
