A COMMUNITY dinner is being held in Keighley for people facing Christmas Day on their own.

Missing Peace Wellbeing + Support is providing a three-course meal – and entertainment – at Central Hall, Alice Street, between 11am and 2pm on Christmas Day.

The organisation's co-founders, Nick Smith and Emma Gibson, together with volunteers are staging the event – known as Christmas Yay! – following the success of a similar initiative in previous years.

Nick said: "We have loved helping out at the Christmas Day dinner at Central Hall before. Last year it wasn’t able to go ahead due to the pandemic and everyone really missed it.

"Christmas can be a tough time for people, especially if they are on their own, and even more so after the last 18 months. We just want to bring a bit of joy into people’s lives."

Bookings are now being taken. Call 07711 271596, email missingpeacews@gmail.com or visit missingpeace.org.uk.

Places are limited, so people are advised to book early.

Emma thanked everyone – volunteers, businesses and Central Hall – for their support.

Missing Peace is also planning to distribute goody bags on the day and would like to hear from anybody willing to donate.
