A HOUSING association has achieved a milestone.
Yorkshire Housing has completed construction of its 1,500th new home since the organisation pledged to build 8,000 homes by 2030.
And the landmark property is at the Leeds-based association's £6 million Long Lee development, where – with Space Homes and Vistry – it is building 61 houses.
Sian Grindley, director of development at Yorkshire Housing, said: "We’re really pleased to hit this important milestone. It means we are well on the way to delivering the 8,000 new mixed-tenure homes across Yorkshire by 2030.
"Every new home we build is transforming communities – providing families with affordable, quality and safe housing, and creating jobs and training for local people.
"There’s an urgent need for more affordable housing in Yorkshire and we’re really proud to be delivering thousands of homes."
Twenty-one of the Long Lee properties are affordable homes, 32 shared ownership and eight rent-to-buy.
