TESCO – which has an express store at Keighley Road, in Crossflatts – has thanked shoppers across the region who together donated over 86,000 meals' worth of food for charities providing help to those in need.
Customers donated long-life food, in support of FareShare and the Trussell Trust, as part of a twice-yearly collection by the supermarket giant.
Claire de Silva, for Tesco, thanked all those who supported the initiative.
She said: "We are hugely grateful for the support of all customers who donated, and made this the biggest collection of long-life food in our stores since the start of the pandemic. We know these donations will make a really significant difference to local people this winter."
In addition, the company provided a cash contribution.
