TRANSDEV – which runs Keighley Bus Company – is extending a popular evening fare deal until the end of March.

Under the scheme, passengers can make a single journey anywhere on the network after 7pm for a flat-rate £1 fare.

The initiative was first introduced last summer as part of a package of measures aimed at encouraging people back onto buses.

It helped passenger numbers, which had slumped during the first lockdown, recover to reach 85 per cent of pre-pandemic levels.

Transdev commercial director, Paul Turner, said: "We know that our buses can play a vital part in Yorkshire’s economic revival beyond the pandemic and with that in mind, plus the fact it’s clearly helping to attract more people back to the bus, we’ve decided to extend our £1 anywhere-to-anywhere evening fare deal until March 31.

"All our buses are clean, safe and ready to go and, with this extended low fare, we hope to play our part in helping the region's nighttime economy to recover quickly in the first three months of this year."
