A NEW programme has been launched to help young people across the region into work or training.
The initiative is aimed at people aged between 16 and 24 Not in Employment, Education or Training (NEET).
As part of the Reach Your Potential venture, dedicated advisors will provide tailored advice and guidance – and source opportunities with employers.
The scheme is part funded by the European Social Fund and will be delivered by the Education Development Trust, a charity which aims to bridge the gap between learning and employment.
Support will be provided to over 1,500 young people across the Leeds City Enterprise Region, which includes Keighley.
A key objective in the region's strategic economic plan is to reduce youth unemployment.
Kate Fisk, contract manager for the Reach Your Potential programme at the Education Development Trust, said: "We're delighted to be taking on delivery of this exciting new programme at a time when young people in the region might not be sure what their next step is.
"The pandemic has had a significant impact on their education and work, and this programme will provide specialist advice to help them get back on track."
