AN acclaimed U2 tribute band is appearing at Haworth.

New2 will headline at the 115th Groovy Happening, at Parkside Social Club on Saturday, April 2, 7.30pm.

The band – making its debut at Groovy Happening – comprises lead singer Frank Farkas, guitarist Wayne Marshall, Steeve Dàvies on drums and bass player Gary Stevens.

An event spokesperson said: "The audience will be amazed by how authentic to U2 the band sounds!

"We feel privileged to have New2 at Groovy, as they normally appear on a much larger stage – performing all over the UK and appearing regularly on the Fake Festival tours."

Also performing are Ruby Stone & The Doctor, frequent visitors to the Groovy stage.

Singer Dawn Stebbings and keyboard player Gareth John will play an acoustic set of songs ranging from Alison Moyet to The Four Seasons and Soft Cell.

And completing the line-up is The Sunday Club, which plays classic rock and blues. Fronting the band is vocalist Eddie McLaughlin and fellow members are guitarist Paul Wilkinson, Andy Milne on bass and Tony Riley on drums. The Sunday Club repertoire includes music by Led Zeppelin, Free, Alice Cooper, ZZ Top, Hendrix and Deep Purple.

Admission is £4, cash payments only.

All proceeds go to Oxenhope Sue Ryder hospice Manorlands.
