STUDENTS at a Keighley secondary school took part in National Careers Week.

And as part of the initiative, Holy Family pupils from years seven to 11 were given the chance to win virtual reality headsets.

By logging onto Launchyourcareer.com, the youngsters could access advanced career guidance – through virtual reality.

"It was made more relatable and relevant for the students by engaging them in exciting technology," said a school spokesperson.

"The experience takes young people on a journey of discovery, using gamification, and has a so-called Virtual Interactive Career Training & Apprenticeship Robot (VICTAR) to show them around.

"We believe that increasing student engagement with the subject of careers – and helping them understand the importance of that pathway, in line with their learning and academic journey – can support them to make better choices for the future.

"This was one of many events that took place during the week."
