THREE bands are making their debut at a monthly charity live music night.

They are appearing at the 116th Groovy Happening, being held upstairs at the Parkside Social Club, in Haworth, on Saturday, May 7, from 7.30pm to midnight.

Headlining is The Diamond Soul Band, which is based in the Skipton area. The six-piece outfit comprises a female lead, guitar, bass, drums and saxophone duo.

First-up will be One Foot in the Rave, a rock and pop covers party band from Huddersfield. Formed post-pandemic but with a wealth of musical experience, the band features Allan McEvoy on lead vocals and rhythm guitar, Dave Humphreys on drums, bass player John Wheatley, David Ball on lead guitar and Emily Pilgrim on support vocals.

And also performing is Stageminus, a young Bradford-based three-piece grunge/alternative rock band. Charlie Ousey is on guitar and vocals, Niamh Jermyn on bass and Joseph Holt-Shaw on drums. They play original songs, with influences including Black Sabbath.

The night will also include Phil Hobson's disco and a raffle.

Admission is £4 – payment by cash only – with all proceeds going to the Oxenhope Sue Ryder hospice, Manorlands.

Over the years, the event has raised £42,000 for the cause.
