A POPULAR brass band is performing at Haworth next month.
Slaithwaite Band is playing at Haworth Parish Church on Sunday, May 14, at 7pm.
Admission is free, but donations are invited – with all proceeds going to the Ukraine humanitarian relief effort.
"The band is very successful in raising funds for worthy causes," said a spokesperson.
"We provide outstanding brass band music for audiences of all ages.
"Our programme of popular music aims to lift spirits and provide audiences with a great experience."
The present organisation was formed in 1892 as Slaithwaite Brass and Reed Band, although bands had existed in the village – intermittently – since the early 1800s.
In addition to staging concerts, members play at events and in competitions throughout the year.
