AN information stall was staged in Keighley to raise awareness of dementia within the town's ethnically-diverse communities.
The event – at Asda – was held by Dementia Friendly Keighley community co-ordinator, Haqique Rehman.
With colleagues from Meri Yaadain and Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust, he highlighted the range of help on offer.
"Events like this give an invaluable opportunity to increase community engagement by raising awareness of dementia and promoting the support available," he said.
"My family has been personally touched by dementia, and I understand the barriers some people face when accessing services. I'm actively encouraging people to seek early intervention and support."
Julie Lintern, manager of Dementia Friendly Keighley, said: "We're committed to developing culturally-appropriate services for all the communities we serve. Having a BAME community engagement role is helping us engage with people, encouraging them to access support."
