A TEAM of students from South Craven School at Cross Hills has been named north-east regional winner of the Tomorrow’s Engineers EEP Robotics Challenge.
The group – known as South Craven Intelligence 6 (SCI6) – met weekly after school to prepare for the competition, held at Preston College.
In the challenge, the students had to complete a series of mat-based tasks centred around environmental problems.
And the event culminated with a team presentation based on environmental issues, in front of a panel of judges.
SCI6 will now compete in the national finals at NEC Birmingham next month.
A school spokesperson said: "The students are a credit to the school. They demonstrated teamwork, problem solving and communication and resilience skills. We wish them the best of luck for the national finals.
"Many thanks to Engineering UK for organising the competition and all the STEM ambassadors who volunteered to
judge the teams."
