MANORLANDS is bowled over with the support of a cricket league.

Mewies Solicitors Craven & District Cricket League hosts charity matches every year to raise money for the Oxenhope Sue Ryder hospice.

And the latest donation, for £2,700, has just been handed over.

The cash was raised through last year's Manorlands Plate final, won by Oakworth, together with contributions from members district-wide.

League treasurer, Chris Todd, said: "We're very proud to be associated with – and able to support – Manorlands and will continue to help the charity, which is very close to many people's hearts."

Adam Brunskill, a community fundraiser at Manorlands, said: "I would like to thank Mewies Solicitors and the Craven & District Cricket League for their continued support and for the latest wonderful donation. The funds will help us continue to provide the expert and compassionate care we’re so well-known for in the community."

Manorlands supports patients with life-limiting illnesses and their families at the hospice and in the community, across an area covering Craven, Airedale and Wharfedale as well as parts of Bradford.

All services are free to patients and their loved ones, but it costs £10,000 a day to keep the hospice doors open.
