AS many are aware, Post Office Ltd wants to close the iconic Main Street branch in Haworth.

The post office at the top of Main Street serves residents, businesses and over 250,000 visitors to the village annually.

There is unfortunately no guarantee that its high footfall will save it – look what happened to our much-used Tourist Information Centre.

With recent new housing developments, we need two post offices.

For those interested, there is to be a public meeting at the Old School Room, Church Street, Haworth, this Thursday (June 16) at 7pm to discuss the future of the branch. Sadly I cannot attend, but I have already made my opinion known via correspondence to both the Post Office and Keighley News.
