A WEST Yorkshire woman who repeatedly wasted police time by making false reports has been given a community order.
Clare Johnson, 62, appeared before Kirklees Magistrates’ Court earlier this month to be sentenced.
She pleaded guilty to a charge of causing wasteful employment of police.
Between March 8 and 9 this year, she knowingly made 13 false reports to 999 “tending to show that an offence had been committed”.
Johnson, of West Street, Lindley, Huddersfield, was also re-sentenced for offending while she was subject to a community order.
On January 1 last year, she was convicted of persistently making use of a public electronic communications network for the purpose of causing annoyance between January 1, 2020 and October 28, 2020.
On May 13 last year, she was convicted of the same offence, with the dates given in court documents as January 8, 2021; February 5, 2021, and March 13, 2021.
For the latest offence, she was given a community order and must undergo treatment for alcohol dependency for a period of six months.
She must also undertake a maximum of 30 Rehabilitation Activity Requirement days.
Johnson must pay a £95 surcharge to fund victim services and costs of £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.
