A GROWING firm has pledged its commitment to Keighley – and Silsden AFC.

Simply Ventilation was formed just two years ago, but has already been involved in some of the country's biggest projects – including the new Co-op Arena in Manchester and London's largest-ever residential scheme.

Now the company – based at the Aire Valley Business Centre, in Lawkholme Lane – has agreed a two-year support partnership with Silsden AFC, sponsoring the football club's main stand.

Simply Ventilation director, Will Twigg, said: "We’ve had a record year and despite some talk of downturn in the industry, we’re optimistic that 2023 will continue this trend.

"We feel that it is hugely important to support local community projects, particularly a club like Silsden which I’ve followed for many years. We're delighted to be able to support Silsden AFC going forward, highlighting our commitment to giving back to the community and especially grassroots football."

He added: "We have fast become the market leader for many products, in particular attenuation and noise control solutions, but it’s a pleasure to say we were founded in Keighley and intend to stay here."

Silsden AFC has made considerable investment in its Keighley Road ground in recent years, including a new hospitality suite, and is looking to expand on what has been achieved.

The club's vice-chair, John Lohan, said: "We’re very grateful to Simply Ventilation for its support.

"It’s an exciting time at Silsden – with a new management team and a plethora of new players – and it is investment and support like this which helps us to promote the club, as we rely purely on the help of volunteers and sponsorship income."

Silsden AFC, which was founded in 1904, plays in the premier division of the Northern Counties East Football League.

There has been a busy pre-season schedule and the league campaign starts away at Bottesford Town on Saturday, July 30.

This month the club hosted a 'legends' charity match against former local rivals Keighley Phoenix, raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support.

A junior game took place ahead of the senior match, and there was a comedian and raffle in the clubhouse.

Silsden AFC, which also has a thriving juniors section and ladies teams, is keen to hear from any other businesses or individuals interested in offering sponsorship. Mr Lohan can be contacted on 07725 703937.
