SKIPTON Building Society is removing plastic passbook wallets from all its branches – including the outlet in Cavendish Street, Keighley.
The society says it's switching to a sustainable card alternative, made from 100 per cent recycled materials and fully recyclable, which will save around a ton of plastic over a decade.
Stacey Dickens, head of sustainability at Skipton Building Society, said: "We’re investing in changes large and small so we can play our part in helping make our society greener, whilst reducing the impact of our operations on the planet. We know this is something our colleagues and members really value too.
"The removal of plastic passbook wallets in the branches is just one action we’re taking to drive forward our sustainability ambitions this year."
