THREE live acts are lined up for the 119th Groovy Happening at Haworth.

The event – which raises funds for Manorlands – takes place on Saturday, August 6, upstairs at Parkside Social Club.

Doors open at 7.30pm. Admission is £4, cash only, with all proceeds going to the Oxenhope Sue Ryder hospice.

Since the Groovy Happening was first held, £42,600 has been raised.

First up at the latest event will be Stuart Corrigan, a self-taught musician. His first performance was at the Bay Horse pub in Oxenhope about six years ago, which led to him then making a debut appearance at Groovy. "Nature has greatly influenced Stuart's music," said a spokesperson.

The other two acts are both newcomers to Groovy.

The Rhythm Junkies is a popular club/party band. The current line up of Steve Carter on keys, guitarist Karl Bramah, Michael Owen on bass and drummer Martin Henderson has been together for five years.

And Badger has been playing classic rock covers since 1980. Gian Rothwell on bass/vocals is a founder member. Oliver Jones took over guitar duties from his uncle 15 years ago, and long-time friend Alex Entwistle has now been the band's permanent drummer for about four years.
