PROCEEDS from this year's hugely successful Riddlesden Gala have been donated to two good causes.
Cheques for £1,200 each have been presented to Hainworth Wood Community Centre food bank and Riddlesden St Mary’s Primary School.
A gala spokesperson said: "The trustees at Hainworth Wood Community Centre expressed their thanks – stating the money would help provide support to many families in Keighley East – and the headteacher at St Mary's thanked the committee for its hard work and said the donation would be used for extracurricular activities for the children.
"Plans are now underway for next year's gala. If anyone would like to get involved, please drop us a message on Facebook."
An estimated 1,000-plus people turned out for this year's event, in June.
A procession made its way from River Mount to the school field.
The gala was making a comeback after a two-year absence due to the pandemic.
