A FIVE-a-side football tournament netted £1,365 for the Bangladesh Floods Appeal.

The event – at Marley Activities and Coaching Centre in Keighley – was organised by the town's Bangladeshi Community Association, with the Global Relief Trust.

Fifteen teams took part in the open-age tournament, and organisers said they were delighted with its success.

A spokesperson added: "It was well attended, with excellent footballing talent on show.

"We'd like to thank all the players, fans, volunteers and sponsors for contributing to the cause."

The winning team was Mastabs of Skipton, and runner-up was Thaal Brotherton. The best player award went to Mahine Malik, best goalkeeper to Ibrahim Ali, and the fair play accolade to Thaal Barnsley. Trophies will be presented at a ceremony later this month.
