A boy from Haworth is acting up with another spring of successes at speech and drama festivals.

Oliver Lovatt, 12, has brought home prizes from festivals in Bingley, Ilkley and Blackburn.

He also won the overall comedy verse speaking award at the end of Blackburn Festival this month.

And the Wharfedale Festival invited Oliver to perform at its final concert.

Oliver, of Bamlett Brow, has been competing successfully at festivals for the past few years.

He appeared as a dancer in the pantomime Aladdin last Christmas, at the Victoria Theatre, in Halifax.

He will perform at Bradford Alhambra this October in the musical We Will Rock You with fellow students of theatre school Stage 84.

Oliver, who attends Parkside School, Cullingworth, brought home three first prizes and a third from the Robertshaw Festival, in Bingley, in March.

Among his prizes at the Wharfedale Festival were firsts in verse speaking and mime and in Blackburn he won four first prizes.
