BLUE is not normally the colour of football fan Dave Belmont.

But the devoted Bradford City follower is donning a Chelsea shirt for next Sunday's (March 19) Manorlands Keighley 10k.

"I've been persuaded through the pledge of a significant amount of sponsorship money to complete the event wearing a Chelsea shirt," says Dave.

"It won't be easy, but I've so far raised over £2,000 and still have the memory of being at the FA Cup match in 2015 when City beat Chelsea 4-2, to help ease the pain!"

Dave has taken part in the annual Keighley 10k for ten years, formerly when he was company secretary with Steeton-based Acorn Stairlifts and now with consumer finance company Morses Club.

Over the years, with colleagues, he's raised more than £40,000 for the Oxenhope Sue Ryder hospice.

Dave adds: "I am retiring at the end of this month, so I'm trying to raise as much as I can this time while I have suppliers and work colleagues to contribute.

"Manorlands does fantastic work for so many people in the area."
