A BAND which reformed after a 40-year hiatus will headline at the latest Groovy Happening.

Teenage & The Wildlife released its debut album – Redesign, Rebuild, Reclaim – last year.

And another album is scheduled for the end of this year.

The band, a Groovy debutant, comprises Dale Kitson on guitar and backing vocals, Roger Kirby on drums/vocals, Andrew Stronach on bass, and lead singer Dazz Robb.

Also new to the monthly event is The 8472.

"They will bring an eclectic selection of sounds, genres, styles and influences from across the years – with their own originality," said a Groovy spokesperson.

The band consists of vocalist Pete Yates, guitarist Cornish, Brown Dog on bass, Swiss Dave on keyboards and drummer Martin Henderson.

Opening the show will be acoustic duo Zoey Phoenix and Oscar Manthorp, who have spent many years working together and will perform songs ranging from pop and rock to ballads.

The latest Groovy Happening – the 131st – takes place upstairs at the Parkside Social Club, Haworth, on Saturday, August 5.

Doors open at 7.30pm.

Admission is £5, cash only, with all proceeds going to Oxenhope Sue Ryder hospice Manorlands.

Since its launch, the event has raised £47,900.
