AN Oxenhope woman has spoken of her pride after being awarded the prestigious Queen’s Nurse title.
Belinda Marks, an advanced clinical practitioner at Sue Ryder hospice Manorlands, joined the charity two years ago following four decades working within oncological and palliative care in the NHS.
"I work with a wonderful team at Sue Ryder and I'm able to support families and patients every day," says Belinda, 62.
"In all my years as a nurse I have never lost my passion, and to be awarded the Queen’s Nurse title is such a wonderful accolade.
"Even if you make one tiny difference for a patient or family, it can have a huge impact."
Tribute is paid by Sarah Bottomley, Manorlands hospice service director.
She says: "Belinda is very deserving of the Queen's Nurse title. She never fails to impress with her commitment, passion for palliative care and boundless enthusiasm for developing services."
