A HUGELY-successful repair cafe has won an accolade.
The Silsden scheme has been presented with a Make A Difference Award.
Since the repair cafe was launched in June last year, it has saved over 750 items from going to landfill.
The cafe is normally held on the third Saturday of every month at Silsden Methodist Church, between 9.30am-noon. The next is on September 21.
People can take along broken items – from toasters, lamps and hair dryers to toys, bikes and jewellery – for the attention of volunteer repair experts.
Also, knives and tools can be sharpened.
Louise Farnell, for the cafe, says: "We’re absolutely delighted and proud to have won the BBC Radio Leeds Make A Difference Award."
