AN event was held at Denholme as part of a campaign to boost safety for horse riders using the roads.
A ride took place in support of the Pass Wide and Slow initiative.
Advice to motorists when encountering a horse rider is to slow down to a maximum of 10mph, and leave a gap of at least two metres.
Saturday's event saw ten riders make their way along the A629 towards Manywells, Cullingworth.
Support was provided by West Yorkshire Police.
Organiser Karen Waddington says she uses the A629 regularly and has been "clipped" several times by motorists.
She adds: "By running this campaign, hopefully it helps make drivers more aware of safety issues on our roads.
"Horse riders don't want to ride on the roads, however public highways need to be used in order to get off-road.
"We ask drivers to be patient, and pass wide and slow, at a maximum of 10mph."
