A CARE home group is in the running for another coveted accolade.
Spellman Care is a finalist in the Social Care Leadership Awards.
The group – which runs Craven Nursing Home in Skipton, Springbank at Silsden, Steeton Court and Ghyll Royd, Guiseley – has been shortlisted in the Environmental, Social and Governance Leader category.
Initiatives demonstrating outstanding commitment to ethical, socially responsible and sustainable practices, that have a positive impact on service users and communities, are recognised through the award.
Measures introduced by Spellman have included the installation of solar panels at Ghyll Royd.
Group director, Steven Spellman, says: "Reaching the finals of the Social Care Leadership Awards in the Environmental, Social and Governance Leader category is a tremendous honour.
"This recognition validates our dedication to sustainable and ethical practices that benefit our residents, staff and the environment. We believe setting a high standard for such practices is essential for the future of social care and are committed to inspiring others to embrace this approach."
The Social Care Leadership Awards feature 10 categories recognising achievement across all areas of the sector, including learning disabilities and autism, children and young people, dementia care and care home and home care settings.
Category winners will be selected by a judging panel led by Prof Martin Green, chief executive officer of Care England, and victors will be announced at an awards ceremony at the London Marriott Hotel Grosvenor Square on October 15.
Earlier this year, Spellman Care achieved success in the Global Health & Pharma Social Care Awards.
It was named Best Luxury Nursing & Residential Care Home Enterprise – North Yorkshire.
Also, Springbank received a CareHome.co.uk Yorkshire and the Humber Top 20 Award.
Recently the group was unveiled as a finalist in the Independent/Family Business of the Year category of this year's Keighley & Airedale Business Awards.
And a string of accolades and initiatives during 2023 culminated with Spellman Care being named Family-Run Care Home Group of the Year in the Northern Enterprise Awards.
Mr Spellman adds: "As a small, local care home group, we are incredibly proud to have reached the finals of another national award scheme. This recognition not only highlights our commitment to providing exceptional care, but also demonstrates our dedication to setting high standards in the social care sector."
