A COMMUNITY is once again turning back the clock.
A Back to the 80s event is being held at Oakworth Village Hall.
The initiative follows the success of Return to the 80s, staged last year.
Proceeds from the latest event – on Saturday, November 16, from 7.30pm – will help fund ongoing renovations at the hall, including the installation of a new heating/air conditioning system.
Organiser Oakworth Community Trust, which operates the building, is promising an evening of nostalgia.
A spokesperson for the trust's events team says: "People seem to have a very soft spot for the 80s, and if that's what they want, who are we to argue? The resident DJ will invite revellers to dance the night away to all their favourite 80s dancefloor fillers, as well as a few forgotten classics! And of course the bar will be open. Don't forget your dancing shoes, you're going to need them!".
The event is for over-18s only.
Tickets – priced £6 each, or two for £11 – are available from ticketsource.co.uk/oakworth-community-trust
Oakworth Community Trust was formed to take over the village hall when the building faced closure due to Bradford Council cuts. For more about the trust, visit oakworthcommunitytrust.org.uk
