THE Health and Safety Executive has brought charges after two men died in an incident at Crossflatts.
Lee Horton, 58, from Ilkley, and Daron Pickstock, 43, from Chorley in Lancashire, both died following an incident at Unit 8 on the Castlefields Industrial Estate, Castlefields Road, on October 29, 2020.
The Health and Safety Executive has confirmed that it has now charged two companies, Space Productiv Ltd and Collins Site Services Ltd.
Mr Horton was managing director of Space Productiv Ltd, an engineering firm based at Unit 8 on Castlefields Industrial Estate.
A spokesperson for the regulator said: "The Health and Safety Executive has charged Space Productiv Ltd and Collins Site Services Ltd with breaching sections two and three of the Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974.
“This relates to an incident at Space Productiv Ltd’s premises on Castlefields Industrial Estate on October 29, 2020, in which Mr Lee Horton and Mr Daron Pickstock were killed.”
The date of the first court hearing is yet to be confirmed.
Inquests into the men’s deaths were opened at Bradford Coroners’ Court on November 12, 2020. They heard the men were understood to be "working together" at the time of the incident.
