MEMBERS of a group which aims to tackle isolation and loneliness amongst over-55s took part in a day trip to Carlisle.
LinkAge participants travelled by train to the city, in a trip organised by group co-ordinator Aston Cooney and volunteer Nick Farrar.
"The trip was a great success – it was the second outing to be held in four months and many more will follow!" said Aston.
"The group was able to enjoy the beautiful scenery of Yorkshire and beyond during the journey."
As part of LinkAge – which was set up by Keighley Parish – people come together weekly for activities, refreshments and chat.
Sessions are at St Mark’s Church, Utley, on Mondays, 1pm to 4pm; St Barnabas Church, Thwaites Brow, on Tuesdays, noon to 3pm, and St John's Church, Ingrow, on Thursdays, also noon-3pm.
Further information about LinkAge can be obtained from Aston on 07845 555143 or aston@keighleyparish.org
