A WELL-known town-centre salon whose future was in jeopardy just a few months ago has found a new permanent home.
Hairavanti was founded in Cavendish Street, Keighley, by brothers Nino and Pietro Risidi in 1979, and grew into an award-winning integral part of the business community there.
But earlier this year, a rent increase left the business looking for new premises.
The salon team relocated to temporary accommodation at Cavendish Court, and this month has moved into a new base in North Street.
Nino's daughter Stefania Risidi, who now runs the salon, says: "When our family business moved out of Cavendish Street it was stressful and upsetting; we nearly lost our livelihoods and the town a strong independent business, plus the jobs of eight people were at risk.
"Invest in Bradford helped guide me through the process of obtaining funding for what would otherwise have been an unmanageable project.
"Now, six months later, our original sign is up in our new North Street salon and we're delighted to be back operating afresh in the centre of town."
Hairavanti was a finalist in last year's Keighley & Airedale Business Awards, and has previously been named the town's Hairdresser of the Year.
