RAISE your glass to Haworth Old Hall.
The Sun Street pub is amongst 22 Marston's hostelries across West Yorkshire, and 1,175 UK-wide, which - from tomorrow (October 26) - will be selling special limited-edition commemorative glasses in support of this year’s Poppy Appeal.
Pint glasses cost £2.50 and half-pint glasses £2, with all profits going to the Royal British Legion.
The venture will form part of a month of activities at Marston's outlets to honour serving armed forces personnel and veterans.
Events range from community breakfasts to live music performances, and pin-on poppies are available to buy.
Jared Sedgwick, director of operations with Marston’s, says: "Brits have been known to take glasses home with them from the pub, but this time we’re encouraging it.
"We're proud to be working in partnership with the Royal British Legion to give our customers another way to raise awareness and funds for veterans, who are a large part of the Marson’s community.
"We welcome everyone to their local pub for a month to remember, and join us in saying cheers to our heroes."
Ben France, for the Royal British Legion, says: "We're thrilled to be partnering with Marston's. The fundraising will help transform the lives of those in need across our armed forces community."
